How do you lose weight and keep it off?!
Ok, so let’s just dive straight into what was the most asked question sent in this week. Weight loss.
The truth is, there is no “one size fits all” answer to weight loss but there are some factors that you can change today that will definitely benefit you moving forward.
Here are the 3 top reasons your metabolism may have gone haywire:
- Not enough sleep - when you don’t get the sleep you need every night, your body is unable to regenerate and repair therefore nothing works properly.
- Too much stress - There is absolutely nothing good about stress and its effect on your body goes deeper than just your metabolism.
- Bad Diet - Eating too many processed foods and eating too often will definitely affect the way your body processes food and stores fat.
Remember if it were easy, it wouldn’t be an issue right? So don’t be hard on yourself. Focus on small changes.
Michaela asks:
What would be the best diet for weight loss?
Study after study points to “intermittent” fasting as an effective way of losing weight. If you haven’t heard this term before, it is an eating pattern that cycles between periods of fasting and eating. There are a few ways in which you could do this:
What and when should I eat around my workouts?
Research shows eating a source of protein within a half hour after doing your working out is most effective. A Smoothie Bomb smoothie is a great way to do this. You could add an extra scoop of protein too. Before exercise it is advised to eat lightly so either a piece of fruit or a light snack.
Kaitlyn asks:
Hi, I lack many vitamins and I have been prescribed 6 different types, taking so many tablets makes me feel ill, how can I get all the vitamins my body requires without having to take supplements?
Firstly, I would want to know if your digestion is working properly. Why are you lacking in vitamins? Is it because you have poor eating habits or you are not absorbing the nutrients? Once that is resolved then a diet consisting of wholefoods like a variety of fruit and veggies, nuts and seeds, grains, legumes and proteins so provide a balance diet. You can take one potent multivitamin once a day to fill in the gaps.
Bianca asks:
I struggle with a very slow metabolism and due to physical restrictions and pain, I am not able to exercise. Do you have any suggestions around speeding up my metabolism naturally?
Slow metabolism is a tough thing to jolt if you cannot get exercise in. This is because exercise will trigger fat burning and in turn adjust your metabolism. As this is limited with you, I would still try to do small exertions using parts of your body that are possible - light weight? Short walks?
Other ways to speed up metabolism:
I hope this has been of help and please feel free to get in touch if you have any questions relating to these topics.
